DALTONGANJ, June 15 -- Palamu administration led by the DC Sameera S has set before it a task so far unheard of which is to relieve a dying and decaying river Batane.

Sameera S has put in place an IFS officer Satyam Kumar DFO Medininagar forest division and Shabbir Ahmad DDC Palamu to do this job.

The team is both young and experienced. The GIS technician is Akancha for the Batane river, only engaged since last week.

A small crowd of people followed this team which visited the Batane dam where Satyam Kumar asked for building dykes, check dams and barriers on the hillocks to save rain water from going astray.
