Kolkata, March 15 -- The Trinamool Congress on Thursday suffered yet another jolt with disgruntled leader and Barrackpore MP Arjun Singh announcing his decision to quit the party and join the BJP. Singh said that he would go to Delhi where he would join the party on Friday.

Singh announced his decision two days after the TMC nominated Naihati MLA and state minister Partha Bhowmick from Barrckpore. Singh's decision comes days after another senior TMC leader and sitting MLA Tapas Roy joining the saffron party. The TMC however sprung a quick surprise by appointing one of Singh's nephews as the election agent of Bhowmick. Singh would however not comment on the matter.
