New Delhi, May 12 -- Electricity consumers in Delhi will have to pay more from May onwards. Power bills are set to rise by 7-10 per cent during the May-June period due to a revision in the Power Purchase Adjustment Cost (PPAC) levied by power distribution companies (discoms). Additionally, residents of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) areas will face higher increases compared to other parts of the capital.
The hike follows an order by the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC), which allowed discoms to levy differential PPAC from May 9, 2025, to August 8, 2025.
