New Delhi, July 2 -- A Delhi police Sub-Inspector (SI) posted at the Sarai Rohilla Police Station has been suspended after serious allegations emerged against him for illegally detaining six minor boys and demanding money from their parents in exchange for their release.
"The Sub-Inspector has been suspended. A departmental inquiry is underway to investigate his conduct. A vigilance probe has also been ordered," said Raja Banthia, District Commissioner of Police (DCP) North. The incident took place on Wednesday night when SI Balbir Chand received a PCR call at about 11 pm regarding a scuffle involving minors near the Sarai Rohilla area.
