New Delhi, March 27 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday suspended a sanitation inspector after finding a lack of desilting of a drain in the Pitampura area of northwest Delhi.
During an inspection, the Chief Minister found serious lapses in sanitation in Pitampura Block. It was found that proper de-silting and cleaning of drains less than four feet deep had not been carried out.
"Taking serious note of this negligence, the Sanitary Inspector responsible for the Municipal ward no-57, Pitampura Block was found to have failed in his duty to ensure proper sanitation. His inability to supervise the assigned area and uphold cleanliness standards was deemed gross misconduct and a dereliction of duty," the CMO said in a statement.
