New Delhi, July 10 -- For the first time in its history, the Delhi cabinet has approved commemorating the 350th Shaheedi Purab (martyrdom day) of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Guru of Sikhism, with a two-day event in November at Lal Qila, Chandni Chowk - the very site where Guru Sahib attained martyrdom while upholding the right to religious freedom.
The event, organised by Department of Art, Culture and Language Department will include a special light and sound show, Kirtan Darbar, panel discussions, exhibitions of paintings and historical archives, and public translations and readings of Guru Ji's teachings in multiple Indian languages to ensure wide accessibility.
