New Delhi, June 10 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has issued fresh eviction notices to residents of the Bhoomiheen jhuggi-jhopri (JJ) camp in Kalkaji Extension, giving them a three-day ultimatum to vacate the area. The notice, issued on Sunday, warns that demolition will begin after Tuesday in compliance with court orders.
This marks the fourth round of eviction action at the site, following earlier demolition drives carried out in May and June this year and July 2023. The camp is home to a large number of migrant workers, many of whom have been living in the area for years.
