India, Oct. 24 -- Giving a major boost to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces, proposals worth over '79,000 crores were approved on Thursday here by Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. It is the second major decision on procurement following Operation Sindoor. Procurement projects worth '67,000 crore was approved on August 5.
The latest proposals include four amphibious warships for the Navy worth '33, 000 crores besides missiles for the army and Collaborative Long Range Target Saturation/Destruction System (CLRTS/DS) for IAF.
