Lucknow, Feb. 27 -- A murder accused carrying a Rs 1 lakh reward was killed in a police encounter in Mundali area of Meerut district early on Wednesday.
According to police, Jitendra alias Jeetu of Haryana's Jhajjar district was wanted in a 2023 murder case in Ghaziabad. The police had declared a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to his arrest.
Additional Director General of Police (Special Task Force) Amitabh Yash said Jitendra, who had suffered serious injuries in the encounter, was sent to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
