Bhopal, May 2 -- A joint operation on Thursday freed encroached government land worth Rs 1.5 crore in Bishankhedi area of the state capital, exposing rampant illegal plotting in the area.
Acting under instructions from Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, teams from the district administration, revenue department, police and municipal corporation took part in the early morning drive.
The team used a JCB to remove illegal demarcations on government land at Khasra numbers 14/2 and 15/2, totalling 1.652 hectares, allegedly occupied by two individuals.
Officials estimated the reclaimed land's value at Rs 1.09 crore. The encroachers were identified as Shubham Sahu and Najma, who had plotted and sold plots illegally.
