Kochi, May 19 -- Hundreds of thousands of football lovers across Kerala were in cloud nine when the State Government declared that Argentina, the reigning World Cup champions would play in a friendly match in the State in 2025. Minister of Sports BV Abdurehman himself made the announcement that Lionel Messi, the super star of Argentina along with members of the 2022 World Cup winning team would fly down to the State and entertain the game lovers with their skill, strength and stamina. The minister had also declared in 2022 that Malappuram, the soccer crazy district of the State would host one of the two matches.
