Bhopal, June 6 -- The 42-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 in Bhopal is undergoing treatment at a private health facility, where doctors described her condition as stable on Wednesday.

She presented with fever and throat irritation before testing positive. Her condition remains steady, according to attending medical staff. The case, confirmed on Tuesday evening, has led authorities to enhance preparedness to tackle the highly infectious JN.1 variant of the virus. Madhya Pradesh has reported 22 active cases so far this year. Until now, Bhopal had remained case-free, with most infections confined to Indore and Gwalior.
