Lucknow, March 16 -- Saharanpur Congress MP Imran Masood has found himself at the centre of controversy after playing Holi with Hindu activists in Deoband during the festival of colours. The Ulema, the Islamic clerics, have criticised his actions, stating that a Muslim should adhere to Shariat and refrain from engaging in non-religious traditions.

Chairman of the Online Fatwa Department, Maulana Mufti Arshad Farooqui, expressed strong disapproval, saying, "Performing non-Islamic acts is strictly prohibited in Islam. Such anti-Islamic practices are absolutely wrong and are not permissible under Shariat."
