Bhopal, March 21 -- The Madhya Pradesh Congress staged a unique protest on Thursday, accusing the BJP government of being indifferent to rising corruption and scams in the state. In a symbolic act, Congress MLA Dinesh Jain dressed up as Kumbhakaran, a character from the epic Ramayana known for his prolonged slumber, to depict the government's alleged inaction.

The protest, led by Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, took place in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue on the legislature complex premises. During the demonstration, Congress MLAs played the flute in an attempt to "wake up" the slumbering BJP government, as Jain, in his Kumbhakaran attire, lay down in the middle of the protest.
