Bhopal, May 16 -- Opposition councillors on Thursday raised serious objections to the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) revised budget for 2024-25, calling it illegal and demanding a probe into financial irregularities.

Led by Shabista Zaki, a Congress delegation met Principal Secretary of Urban Administration. They alleged procedural violations and asked the state government to reject the revised budget entirely.

Councillors Yogendra Singh 'Guddu' Chauhan and Devanshu Kansana also attended the meeting. The councillors later submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary Sanjay Shukla, demanding a formal committee to investigate the alleged financial mismanagement.
