India, Sept. 15 -- Delhi Congress on Sunday said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has flouted the order of the Supreme Court to earmark designated feeding spots for the stray dogs which were first rounded up and then released at the intervention of the Supreme court, on the plea that it lacks the funds, infrastructure and manpower to fully implement the SC order.
The party said that it was surprising that the MCD has not yet sanctioned any budget to the Animal Birth Control (ABC) centres for the sterilization and immunisation of stray dogs in the current financial year. He said that in the 2025-26 MCD budget, '15 crore has been earmarked for the purpose, but even after six months, no funds were released.
