India, Feb. 11 -- The Delhi Government on Tuesday launched the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, an expanded and restructured version of the Ladli Scheme. The scheme aims to ensure financial security and uninterrupted education for girls from economically weaker families from birth to higher education.

Announcing the scheme, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the initiative seeks to ensure that no girl child in Delhi is forced to discontinue her education due to financial constraints. She said the scheme will also help create a long-term savings corpus that grows as a girl achieves key educational milestones and matures into adulthood.
