India, Nov. 19 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said her Government has set a new benchmark in modernising Delhi's transport network after deploying 1,400 electric buses within eight months. She made the remark while inaugurating the redeveloped DTC bus terminal at Azadpur and flagging off 40 new electric buses.

The Chief Minister said her government was elected on a mandate for change and has turned that mandate into visible work on the ground. She said past governments neglected public transport, which weakened DTC and slowed mobility upgrades. She added that the current administration is focused on building a clean, efficient and world-class system anchored in electric mobility.
