Jamshedpur, June 20 -- In the wake of a heavy rainfall alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi has announced the suspension of classes in all schools up to Class 8 across East Singhbhum district on Friday, June 20. According to the IMD forecast, continuous heavy rainfall is expected in the district over the next 24 hours. In addition to the downpour, rising water levels in rivers and widespread waterlogging have raised safety concerns for school-going children. With several rivers already flowing near or above the danger mark, the administration has deemed it unsafe to continue regular school operations.
