Bhopal, May 25 -- An 18-year-old Diksha Rajak, a promising Class 12 student, committed suicide at her Kolar Road home on Friday afternoon.
Just hours before, Diksha had visited her school to submit bank details for a government laptop scheme under which she was to receive Rs 25,000 the next day as part of the Chief Minister's initiative. Having scored an impressive 81% in her recent MP Board exams, Diksha was seen as a bright student with a promising future.
Police reports indicate that Diksha returned home unusually quiet before taking the extreme step while her parents, employed as a watchman and domestic help, were at work. Her uncle, Ramakant Rajak, expressed disbelief over the incident, noting that Diksha never confided any problems....
