India, Jan. 10 -- Black kites will be fed with boneless chicken to keep them away from the flight path of fighter aircraft and jets during the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.

This unique measure by the Delhi Government's Department of Forests and Wildlife is to avoid bird hits while the planes perform low-flying manoeuvres. According to the official, it is estimated that 1275 kg of boneless chicken is to be used to manage the movement of black kites and keep them away from aircraft routes from the Republic Day celebrations.
