Lucknow, March 6 -- The Uttar Pradesh police have registered a case against real estate developer Ansal Group on charges of cheating, criminal breach of trust, conspiracy and organised crime. The FIR was lodged a day after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to take strict action against the company and ensure homebuyers' interests are protected. During a session in the state assembly, Adityanath criticised the opposition Samajwadi Party, alleging that its previous government had shielded developers like the Ansal Group.
Even on Wednesday, he raised the issue in the state legislative council and said that the government will take punitive action against the Ansal Group.
