Chandigarh, May 3 -- Amid the escalating water-sharing dispute between Punjab and Haryana, Punjab's former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday met BJP national president JP Nadda in New Delhi. The meeting, confirmed by Capt Amarinder via a post on social media platform 'X', comes at a politically sensitive time, with tensions mounting over the release of Punjab's water to Haryana.

While the official statement merely described discussions on "national security and various issues concerning Punjab", it has been learnt that the ongoing water dispute was a key point of deliberation between the two top leaders.
