RAIPUR, July 15 -- The Sishu Sanrakshan Mah (SSM) campaign was launched across Chhattisgarh on Tuesday to protect children and women from anemia and other deficiencies.
A total of 28 lakh children in the age group of 6 months to 5 years will be provided Iron-Folic Acid (IFA) syrup to protect them from anemia. Children will also get Vitamin A tablets.
"This programme will be carried out in every district to protect children and pregnant women as well as children from malnourishment related problems including anemia," Health Secretary Niharika Barik Singh told The Pioneer.
Highly malnourished children will be admitted to nutrition centres, she added.
