Kolkata, June 21 -- The Mamata Banerjee Government suffered yet another judicial jolt with the Calcutta High Court on Friday staying the executive order announcing a monthly stipend for 2016-batch Group-C and D school staff who was earlier sacked by the Supreme Court in April over a cash-for-job scam.
The Court had also dismissed thousands of teachers prompting them to start a relentless movement against the State Government alleging they would not have lost their jobs had the appointment procedure been honest and transparent.
The Bench of Justice Amrita Sinha stayed the Government order questioning on what basis the sacked school staff were to be paid the stipend and if they were to be paid so what they would give to the State in return....
