RAIPUR, Nov. 23 -- Chhattisgarh's farmers will have a harrowing time during the procurement of paddy under minimum support price from December 1 as arrangements for gunny bags have not been done, former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said on Sunday.

Addressing the media at his residence here, Raman Singh said the government should have entered into an agreement with jute firms in advance for supply of gunny bags before the paddy procurement season begins.

In the present situation, the government had not been serious on arranging the gunny bags for procurement of paddy. Instead, it has commenced blame game, pointing towards the Central government's failure to supply, the BJP leader said.
