Bhopal, May 5 -- A student's suicide warning has jolted Barkatullah University after he accused seniors of ragging, bringing girls into hostels, and hosting alcohol-fuelled parties.
The Biotechnology student from BU's Institute of Engineering has purportedly filed a complaint with the UGC anti-ragging helpline, alleging mental harassment and pressure to join a group. He claimed seniors frequently brought girls into the hostel at night and organised drunken parties, making his life unbearable.
The student warned that if no action was taken, he might end his life. The UGC forwarded the complaint to BU on Sunday evening, prompting the university to initiate an immediate inquiry.
