India, March 3 -- The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), once a dominant political force in Uttar Pradesh, is witnessing internal turmoil. In a major decision on Sunday, BSP supremo Mayawati removed her nephew, Akash Anand, from all party positions. This comes just days after she expelled Akash's father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, from the party.

At the same time, Mayawati elevated her brother, Anand Kumar, and senior leader Ramji Gautam, appointing them as national coordinators. Addressing party members, she made it clear that BSP would no longer operate on family-based leadership.
