Bhopal, June 16 -- A 12-year-old boy, Vishal Chauhan, tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning in Kekadia village under the Ratibad police station area on Sunday afternoon.
Vishal, a Class 6 student, had been working in a field near his home, sowing maize with three friends. At around 4:30 PM, while returning home, his friends walked ahead, leaving Vishal behind. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck him, accompanied by a loud thunderclap, killing him instantly.
His friends and family rushed to his aid and immediately took him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead by the attending doctors.
The Ratibad police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
