Bhopal, Feb. 12 -- In a significant move towards improving patient safety and optimising drug usage, the Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) on Tuesday announced that it has introduced a new Essential Drug List (EDL).

According to BMHRC, the list adheres to the National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM) issued by the Government of India in 2022.

The process of creating the new EDL involved input from department heads across the hospital. Their suggestions led to the removal of redundant medicines, said the hospital, quoting Dr Manisha Shrivastava, Director in charge of BMHRC.
