Bhopal, June 9 -- Continuing with a special sanitation drive for the second consecutive day on Sunday, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) teams collected 200 tonnes of bio waste and despatched it to the rendering plant at Adampur for conversion into fish and poultry feed.
Officials said containers were placed at 110 spots across the city to manage the remains of sacrificial animals. Teams monitored key areas, especially near water bodies, to prevent improper dumping. A Rs 15,000 fine was issued for violations.
Sanitation Supervisor Imtiyaz Khan said his team worked continuously, with all waste from the first day already processed. On Sunday, over 250 people were stopped from disposing of waste incorrectly.
