Bhopal, May 25 -- In a sweeping operation, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday removed illegal encroachments and rounded up dozens of stray animals from public spaces and roads in the state capital.
Acting on complaints from the CM Helpline and routine patrols, enforcement squads seized stalls, tables, stools and other unauthorised setups from pavements and corridors. Vendors had placed goods illegally outside shops or on footpaths.
The anti-encroachment drive was conducted under the direction of Commissioner Harendra Narayan. It covered New Market, MP Nagar, Bairagarh, Kolar, Royal Market and other areas notorious for obstructions.
