BHOPAL, Feb. 19 -- Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday stated that notices have been issued to cattle owners and dairy operators who allow their bovines to roam freely on city roads. This action aims to prevent road accidents and the spread of filth in public areas.

Animals caught roaming by the BMC will require an identity card for their first release. For subsequent releases, both the identity card and a sworn affidavit will be necessary. Failure to comply will result in legal action.

The civic body had previously instructed dairy operators to keep livestock outside Bhopal's municipal limits. Animal owners violating this directive will face fines, and their animals will be sent to the pound.
