BHOPAL, Feb. 22 -- Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) persisted with a crackdown on violations affecting cleanliness and air quality across the city on Friday,

Health department teams from all 21 municipal zones imposed spot fines totaling Rs 66,530 in 572 cases. Additionally, Rs 1,600 was collected in penalties from three cases related to Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste.

Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan has directed the health department to take strict action against those contributing to environmental degradation.
