BHOPAL, Feb. 27 -- The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) top brass will soon convene to mull over a course of action against government departments defaulting on municipal taxes, a top civic body functionary informed on Wednesday.

Sources say that non-payment or delayed payments by government departments are the norm in the state capital, where the BMC is targeting the collection of Rs 600 crore in tax revenues this year.

With just a little over a month to go before the tax collection deadline on March 31, the civic body is issuing seizure and attachment notices to property owners in the city, including several corporate entities as well as government departments.
