Jammu, June 13 -- In a significant development, Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, met
with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar on Thursday to address concerns over the mandatory requirement of Urdu language proficiency for the Naib Tehsildar examination.
Accompanied by Sat Paul Sharma, President of the BJP Jammu and Kashmir Unit, the LoP urged the Lieutenant Governor to make the
working knowledge of Urdu non-mandatory for the recruitment process, citing issues of fairness and regional disparity.
