Jammu, March 21 -- BJP leader and former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Gurez, Faqeer Mohammad Khan was found dead at his official residence in Tulsi Bagh, Srinagar,on Thursday.
Initial reports indicate that he died by suicide, having shot himself with a firearm.
Images of Khan, with a firearm by his side, went viral on various social media platforms soon after the news of his death under mysterious circumstances spread like wildfire.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The 62-year-old former Member of the Legislative Assembly had joined BJP in March 2020 and later contested the 2024 Assembly polls from the Gurez Assembly constituency.
