India, Nov. 22 -- On Friday, portfolios were distributed to ministers in the newly elected Bihar Cabinet. Incumbent deputy chief ministers, Samrat Chowdhury and Vijay Kumar Sinha of the BJP, will continue in their positions, with Chowdhury getting the additional charge of home department. The home department was headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the last two decades.
Bijendra Prasad Yadav of the JD(U) was given the finance portfolio, which was held by the BJP in the State until now. Yadav will also head the commerce and the tax departments. While deputy CM Sinha will keep revenue and land reforms, and mines and geology departments, the notification said.
