BHOPAL, Feb. 4 -- With spot fines on polluters and sanitation guideline violators keeping Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) cash registers ringing, the civic body seems set to earn crores through the campaign.
Currently, the BMC's spot fine earnings are averaging between Rs 100,000 and Rs 150,000 per day, as recent statistics point towards an income of approximately Rs 32,47,147 per month.
In January, the civic body issued a total of 20,400 spot fines. While most of these cases were related to the improper disposal of household or commercial waste, several cases of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste were also included.
