Bhopal, March 9 -- The Bhopal-Bilaspur Express was successfully operated by an all-women staff to mark International Women's Day on Saturday. The journey showcases the growing role of women in railway operations.

Train number 18235 departed from Platform No 5 at Bhopal Station at 10:15 AM, flagged off by Additional Divisional Railway Manager Rashmi Diwakar. A female loco pilot and assistant loco pilot led the journey, with a woman serving as the Guard.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria praised the initiative as a testament to women's efficiency, capability, and professionalism in the railway sector. Indian Railways, he said, continues to promote women's leadership by assigning them key responsibilities.
