Bhopal, May 12 -- Nearly eight years after former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared Raja Bhoj Airport ready for international operations, Bhopal still awaits its first full-fledged international flight service.
Despite repeated assurances and infrastructure upgrades, the reality remains unchanged - international air connectivity from the state capital is still at the "soon-to-commence" stage. Demand for international flights, particularly to destinations like Dubai, has steadily increased, with more than 20 passengers reportedly traveling daily from Bhopal to catch connecting flights elsewhere. Yet, instead of boarding from their home city, these passengers continue to rely on airports in Indore or other metro cities.
