Kolkata, May 31 -- A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for running a ruthless and corrupt Government, the Kolkata Police on Friday arrested about 50 agitating school teachers protesting under the banner of Deserving Teachers' Rights Forum.

The teachers were marching towards the State Secretariat in Nabanna; to protest against the massive corruption in 2016 teachers' recruitment exams, that led the Supreme Court to cancel the entire panel of 26,000 teachers and non-teaching staff after the School Service Commission failed to provide the list of tainted and untainted teachers despite repeated reminders by the judiciary.
