NEW DELHI, June 20 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has passed an order on Friday to end the State Government's home quarantine strategy.

According to the order signed by Baijal, any person found positive for the novel coronavirus in Delhi will now be placed in mandatory institutional quarantine for at least five days while the patient will only be allowed to leave the quarantine centre one the symptoms subside.

However, in case symptoms increased during five - day period, the patient will be immediately recommended for hospitalisation

Mandatory physical verification of those currently placed in home isolation will be carried out by surveillance teams under the District Magistrate's supervision.
