Ayodhya, June 11 -- After an eight-year gap, Ayodhya's circle rates - the government-fixed minimum property valuation for registration - have been revised significantly upward, with hikes ranging from 30 per cent to as much as 200 per cent in certain locations, officials confirmed on Monday.

The steepest increase is seen in areas surrounding the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, where land values have surged over 150 per cent, reflecting a sharp rise in demand following the rapid development and religious tourism boom.

The revised rates, which came into effect on Monday, apply to residential, commercial and agricultural land categories and vary according to land use and proximity to key urban and religious sites. Officials said the areas within a 1...
