New Delhi, April 22 -- Chief Ministers of several states on Monday condoled the passing away of Pope Francis and paid rich tributes to him. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma recalled his efforts for significant reforms in the church. "It is with deep sadness that we receive the news of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis," Sarma said in a social media post.
"His pontificate was defined by tireless efforts for peace, a strong voice for the vulnerable and significant reforms in the Church. He inspired millions, far beyond the Catholic Church, with his humility and dedication to work till his last breath," he said.
