New Delhi, May 3 -- Delhi woke up to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, which led to disruptions in flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather, three flights were diverted, eight cancelled and nearly 250 delayed with an average delay of 20 minutes on Friday morning at the IGI airport. Many travellers reported severe delays and diversions as a result of the bad weather, which caused widespread inconvenience across the National Capital Region (NCR). More than 300 flights were delayed, according to data from flight tracking website Flightradar24.Com.
