India, Dec. 15 -- Reinforcing its enduring commitment to youth empowerment, peace-building and nation-building through sports, the Indian Army is organising the inaugural edition of the Red Shield Division Rising Hockey Tournament (Under-19) at the Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium, Imphal, Manipur.
The week-long tournament commenced on 14 December 2025 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from budding hockey players across Manipur. The initiative was conceptualised following an appeal by Olympian Kshetrimayum Thoiba Singh, a celebrated hockey legend from Manipur, who approached the Indian Army with a vision to provide a constructive platform for young sportspersons from the state, particularly in the backdrop of recent challenges.
