India, Oct. 10 -- The body of a paratrooper, who went missing during an anti-terrorist operation in the upper reaches of the South Kashmir district of Anantnag, has been found, officials reported on Thursday.
The soldier is believed to have died following an avalanche or snowstorm that struck the high-altitude area late on Monday evening.
According to official sources, the recovered soldier was found with his rucksack and service weapon intact, indicating he was part of an ongoing search and cordon operation launched earlier this week in the dense forest area of Kokernag-Gadool.
