Bhopal, May 9 -- A mock evacuation was conducted in the state capital on Thursday morning to test and enhance preparedness of the PM Shri Air Ambulance Service.

As part of the exercise, a dummy patient was airlifted from the Barkatullah University helipad, located just 3 km from AIIMS Bhopal. The air ambulance flew in from Bhopal airport, testing coordination between sites for rapid medical transfer.

The drill focused on reducing the time needed to shift critically ill patients to AIIMS or other advanced centres. A green corridor can reduce travel times from the helipad to AIIMS to just 3-4 minutes, said Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Prabhakar Tiwari.
