Bhopal, March 14 -- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is conducting a series of awareness events and screening activities during World Glaucoma Week, observed annually in the second week of March. World Glaucoma Week is a global initiative by the World Glaucoma Association (WGA) aimed at raising awareness about this "silent thief of sight." Glaucoma can affect anyone, but individuals over 40, those with a family history of glaucoma, or those with medical conditions such as diabetes are at a higher risk. Since glaucoma often remains undetected until significant vision loss occurs, regular eye examinations play a pivotal role in early detection and management.
